ALTO-60-S
WING
SPAN 60"
SECTION RG 14 mod.
WEIGHT 25ozs
WING LOADING 9 oz sq ft
RADIO 2 channel
ALTO-60-S is a 60" wingspan V-tail aileron/elevator controlled
slope soarer, with the extra benefit of a good thermal soaring performance.
Construction
features foam core wings with 1/16" balsa skins and servo wells
ready formed for aileron control mini servo mounting. A vacuum moulded
fuselage pod of high impact polystyrene with all internal formers
including serve, mount from the same material. The tail boom is
3/8" dia aluminium tube with all tail blade mounting holes
drilled and snake exit formed. Tail blades are 3/16" balsa
profiled to finished shape with mounting slots ready cut in correct
positions. The kit contains all materials needed for construction
including all hardware, clevis's etc. A tube of polystyrene cement
is required for fuselage construction as is epoxy andlor white glues
and covering/finishing materials.
ALTO-60-S
is fast and aerobatic as may be expected of an aircraft with the
RG14 wing section. However it is also well behaved at low speeds
with a soft stall and no tendency to drop a wing in a slow, tight
turn. As a general sports model it is capable of flying in winds
ranging from 5 to 30 mph without the addition of ballast. Aerobatics
such as roils and loops are performed with ease, as are combinations
of these, Cuban eights for instance. In addition snap rolls, spins
(really flat ones with the CG well back) stall turns, chandelles
and sustained inverted flight are all possible.
This
model requires a two channel radio, two mini servos for aileron
operation plus one standard servo for elevator control. Alternatively,
with a more sophisticated radio, four mini servos, two for aileron
plus rudder and elevator controls via a mixer may be used. A full
computer radio will allow crow braking to also become a possibility.
The nose area infront of the servo bay will take a 500-600 mah standard
square receiver battery and a standard size receiver.
ALTO
60-S PRICE - £54.00 + £4.50 p&p.
