ASW 24 & MicroFloh! | ||||||||||||
FVK "Mini" ASW24 & Schmierer Modellbau MicroFloh Having owned both models for some time now, I thought it would be a good idea to do an update on each model, and how they've performed so far. Also, both models have around 25 hours of flight on the clock. FVK "mini" ASW24. Rudder is also electronically mixed in with the ailerons via my Tx (Graupner/JR MC-12), which also helps the model though the turns. As for overall flight performance, she is beautiful !!. She won't spin, but most other aerobatic manoeuvres can be done with great ease. Rolls still need some speed and height, but are for better than when she first flew back in May 2002. Thermalling ability is not in question here. In a strong thermal, she'll zoom up at quite a rate which I find most impressive. To cap it all, I'm very please with this purchase, and recommend it to anyone looking for a compact, scale looking glider. Movement settings:-

Schmierer
Modellbau MicroFloh. Again, another model that is still giving sterling service. Performance is very impressive, and the model was recently flown in a 42mph Westerly on my local slope. What's more amazing, is that she only weighs in at 1lb 6oz, and has not been made ballast capable!!!! She has suffered a few minor accidents (one was a flyaway!), with very very minimal damage. Thermalling performance is very impressive with heights gained of up to around 1500ft. High speed dives from this sort of height require a lot of concentration from the pilot, and are moronic fun to watch! A beginners model, she's certainly not. The MicroFloh is extremely happy in the hands of an intermediate to expert pilot who is prepared for lively antics. She can be flown slowly, but get too near the stall and the ensuing "flick-stall" can be fatal at low height. Summing up, a truly fantastic model that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
