Yes,
this year's National Championships (Power) are definitely on.
Yesterday
(21st April) at the Nationals Planning Meeting, in Leicester,
BMFA Technical Secretary and Nationals Co-ordinator, Chris Bromley
told the meeting that the RAF have now confirmed the availability
of Barkston Heath.
The
Nationals will therefore go ahead on its traditional dates, during
the August Bank Holiday. (Sat 24th to Monday 26th August 2002).
The
BMFA will now be going all out to organise this massive event.
Traders, who have been regularly calling the BMFA offices in Leicester,
will now be able to firm up their bookings.
Regular
visitors to the Nationals will however notice a few changes to
Barkston Heath, not least the demolition of the portacabin Administration
block, that was sited at the end of the trade show area.
So,
it'll be all hands to the pump for the BMFA, traders and competition
organisers, but the important news is that the 'Nats' are once
again ON!
